Our manufacturing Client based in Medway is seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer.  The role is offered as a full time, permanent role working days, Monday to Friday - 39 hours per week + overtime. 

Working hours will be:

Monday - Thursday      08.00am to 4.30pm (with a ½ hour unpaid lunch)

Friday                           08.00am to 3.30pm (with a ½ hour unpaid lunch)

 

You will be expected to work a reasonable amount of overtime to support production. This is usually 1 to 2 hours each day Monday to Friday plus 4 hours on Saturday morning on alternate weeks

As a General Engineer with a specialism in electrical installation, you will be working within a busy manufacturing environment as part of a team of specialist engineers, providing engineering support to the Production Department to minimise downtime.   

As a valued member of our team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Progressing routine preventative maintenance across a range of equipment, some of which may be outside of the electrical field of engineering;

  • Repairing and Maintaining Hot Melt Glue Machines

  • Maintenance of electrical property

  • Installation of plant and equipment

  • Providing technical advice to management as required

  • Identifying essential spares for stock and progressing of material requisitions

  • Receipt checking for correct items and binning

  • Project work as appropriate

  • Electrical Installations

  • Any other duties as necessary to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the engineering team. 

The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications or experience:

  • City & Guilds qualification or equivalent in Electrical Maintenance & Installation

  • 18th Edition Electrical Installation

You must also have knowledge of motor control, particularly Thyristor drives, knowledge of and experience of working with programmable controls, experience of dealing with emergency lighting and be familiar with 3 phase.

Knowledge of general engineering would be advantageous
