Our Client based in Essex is seeking a Maintenance Planner.  This is a full time permanent position.  Day to day duties are to plan and schedule all maintenance work for the maintenance department (c 20 personnel). 

The successful candidate will be organised and possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and must be self-motivated - be able to team build, train and work on multiple tasks concurrently - possess a willingness to assume and learn new responsibilities - have proven experience of accurate record keeping and computer skills and possess basic maintenance skills, such as troubleshooting problems.

 

The ideal candidate will be degree educated in engineering or possess practical engineering knowledge of equipment installation and maintenance.

  • To conduct basic routine maintenance including daily rounds.
  • Responsibility for planning and scheduling preventive, predictive, repair, shut down, and project work while coordinating with maintenance and production management to meet production schedules.
  • To review and prioritise requests for work with input from maintenance and operational management.
  • To maintain computerised maintenance management systems, standards, job plans, routes, and manage the backlog.
  • To visit job sites for clarification, discuss with others as required and estimate labour, material and equipment requirements.
  • To track work orders to completion, evaluating the work to determine if there are any areas for improvement.
  • To coordinate the root cause analysis meetings with maintenance and/or production supervisors.
  • Responsibility for record keeping of mandatory inspections.
  • To ensure all resources are available before the work order is scheduled, determining labour capacity, the skill/crew for each maintenance task and training needs for department technicians.
  • Responsibility for maintaining records to be used for asset management.
  • To reserve all stored materials required, orders non-stock material, and track all equipment information including spare parts and manuals.
  • To works with engineering and operators to establish and optimize preventive maintenance programs.
  • To coordinate and follow-up each maintenance job with maintenance supervisors and leads.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

 

  • Bachelor/Master degree in engineering or practical engineering knowledge of equipment installation and maintenance.

  • 2-3 years of Industrial experience

  • Computer literate with Maximo skills desirable.

  • Passionate about latest maintenance practices and the ability to supervise maintenance tasks.

  • Basic knowledge of process equipment

  • Basic knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance
