Our Client based in Northfleet is seeking a skilled Supervisor.  The role is permanent and works Monday to Friday 1.30pm to 10.30pm and when required you will cover other shifts e.g. 8am to 5pm or 5am to 2pm.  Overtime is paid at STD rate.  Salary: £23-25K pa


The position is suitable for candidates with a background in the food processing industry or paint, pharmaceutical etc (Processing).




Health & Safety:

    • Assist with producing and reviewing risk assessments and safe systems of work
    • Take immediate action to prevent unsafe practices and isolate and report any uncontrolled hazards
    • Champion safe working practices
    • Ensure relevant Health & Safety legislation is followed

Food Safety:

    • Ensure Good Manufacturing Practice is being applied
    • Ensure Clean As You Go is being applied
    • Ensure the Critical Control Points identified in the Company’s HACCP plan are properly monitored and recorded.
    • Monitor hygiene in the Production areas during your shift and resolve or report any issues found
    • Ensure food ingredients are being handled and stored in a food safe manner and according to Co’s procedures/policy
    • Ensure your staff follow the Company Hygiene code and maintain a high standard of personal hygiene while at work
    • Ensure production equipment and tanks are cleaned properly and according to procedure


    • Ensure the double check/sign off procedure is followed and all paperwork and labelling is completed accurately and signed by the relevant staff
    • Carry out product testing including HPLC analysis as required
    • Ensure that no incorrect, contaminated or degraded ingredients are used
    • Stop production immediately and report to the Production Manager if any incorrect, contaminated or degraded ingredients are found to have been used in a blend


    • Supervise the shift team and relevant non-shift personnel working in production
    • Closely supervise and carry out inductions for any temporary staff employed in production
    • Supervise contractors and engineers working in the production areas and ensure they are suitably briefed on relevant safety and food safety matters
    • Carry out training as necessary in production procedures, working practices and Company policy
    • Ensure time sheets are completed and sent as necessary in a timely manner
    • Assist in any staff reviews or disciplinary hearings as required


    • Organise your staff in the best possible way to maximise efficiency for the Company
    • Implement the production plan as efficiently as possible to maximise the throughput during your shift and leave the production areas and equipment in a fit state for the next shift to start
    • Report the production achieved as required and a detailed handover for the next shift
    • Attend meetings as required for training or other work related issues
    • Participate in the daily production meeting when your shift allows
    • Monitor usage of sundry items and consumables, report any shortages


    • Ensure part labels are applied and accurate
    • Ensure all unused stock is returned to the correct storage location (recorded on paperwork)
    • Leave the warehouse in a tidy state, do not block access for picking
    • Ensure all spillages are cleaned up immediately and bins emptied/rubbish cleared
    • Ensure allergens are left correctly labelled and located/positioned
