Our Client based in Kent (Medway) is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager.  The ideal candidate will be degree educated and have experience within manufacturing e.g. electrical and mechanical components.  This role reports to the UK Operations Director.  


The Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing the process of evaluating and selecting vendors, negotiating contracts, setting up terms of payment, and analysing spend to identify areas for savings. They will manage this activity for all key purchases made by three UK sites. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple sites and categories of spend so that the optimum value for money solutions aligned with the necessary efficiency in service are delivered to the business.

Skills & experience:

  • Degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration preferred not essential
  • Higher education in field of engineering an advantage
  • Minimum 3 years’ experiences in purchasing electrical and mechanical components;
  • Proven track record and experience in a strategic procurement role
  • Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
  • Working experience of vendor management software
  • A competent understanding of commercial law
  • A solid awareness of MRP computer systems
