Our Crawley based client requires a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their Accounts team.

The role will involve, but not limited to:

  • Creating new vendors, and set up on ERP system

  • Checking purchase invoices and credit notes to purchase orders, and entering accordingly to computer system

  • Dealing appropriately with invoice queries, liaising with Purchasing and Goods Inwards departments to resolve issues in a timely fashion.

  • Preparation of monthly payment runs via Bank electronic payment systems.  Raising small quantity of overseas cheque payments.

  • Posting of supplier payments and reconciliation of such in multiple currencies including Pounds sterling, Euro’s and US Dollars

  • Checking and processing business expenses claims, posting and preparation of payments in 3 currencies.

  • Preparation and completion of all necessary actions for the monthly completion of Intrastat Arrival reports, and dealing with any subsequent queries.

  • Meticulous and regular filing of all relevant paperwork.

  • Handling small quantities of petty cash transactions, recording manually and then to ERP system

  • All duties must be rigorously and efficiently completed to daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.

     

Suitable candidates will have the following skills / attributes / experience/ qualifications:

 

  • GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English – grade C or above (or equivalent) – as a minimum  

  • Knowledge of VAT reports  

  • Must be meticulous, accurate, and organised

  • Confident with good communication skills – both written and verbal to liaise with customers, suppliers and staff at all levels

  • Excellent level of computer literacy

  • Experience of Navision / Dynamics NAV (beneficial) or any other ERP software systems would be advantageous

  • An additional language would be beneficial – ideally French, Spanish, Italian or German

  • Knowledge of Intrastat / EC (European Community) reports – beneficial

 

Working hours are Monday – Friday 8:45am – 5:15pm.
