Job Description

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.            Provide technical applications support to Area Technical Managers

2.            Conduct trials, demonstrations and projects in Colorcon laboratories (or occasionally at customer sites) in a timely manner as agreed by line managers.

MAIN DUTIES:

 

1.            To develop a broad understanding of the pharmaceutical solid oral dosage form subject area and apply this to practical work.

2.            Support EMEA West customer trials and interactions, and as a fluent English, French and Arabic speaker support North Africa customers as required either over the phone or during customer visits (anticipate up to 6 roadshows per year)

3.            Contribute directly to developing product and process solutions for customers

4.            Understand and operate all process and analytical equipment used for sample manufacture and testing in the technical laboratory.

5.            Review activity list and agree priorities with line managers on a regular basis

6.            Prepare samples of coated tablets and Colorcon products to a high-quality standard and organise packing and return of samples to client.

7.            Record data in an official laboratory notebook and provide written and verbal reports of work done, as required.

8.            Assist in the running of Colorcon training events, in particular, Coating Schools & Formulation Schools at Colorcon sites (inc. 3 in Massy, Paris).

9.            Support the investigation / resolution of customer technical complaints, in conjunction with the Quality Control and Technical Service Departments.

 

Attributes

               

Education / Attainment

Essential             

 

Science related qualification; e.g.: MSc Chemistry, Material Sciences or Pharmaceutical Sciences

 

Fluent English and Arabic             

 

Experience / Training

 

Hands-on experience working in a pharmaceutical development laboratory

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Commercial laboratory related work experience

 

Job Related Skills

 

Practical individual with good problem-solving skills and IT experience

 

Team player who can follow instruction and work to set delivery targets, consistently achieving high quality results.               

 

Circumstances

Ability and willingness to work flexible hours and travel up to 6 times a year to North Africa + 3 times to France to support customer visits and technical events.

               

Desirable

Education

Higher level degree in chemistry, materials science or pharmaceutical sciences.

 

Job Related Skills

Practical Knowledge SOP development and equipment maintenance

 

French speaking

 

Experience of running pharmaceutical equipment, including but not limited to: compression, coating, and granulation equipment
