Our Client based in Medway is seeking a skilled and qualified Electrical Design Engineer.The role reports to the Engineering Manager and will work as part of a small team of electrical, mechanical and control engineers.

Salary: up to £40,000 pa + company pension & healthcare, 28 days holiday including bank holidays, increasing with length of service.

The Electrical Design Engineer would have a hands-on approach when necessary, supporting panel builders and test engineers to troubleshoot systems both in our premises, and in the field if required. Academic background could be an electrical degree, or a lower qualification with evidence of experience and further training.

·Systems design and more detailed electrical designs.

·Working on quotations and proposals

·Dealing with suppliers, Clients and end users

·Commissioning systems in the UK and abroad

Electrical Design Engineer job role will primarily involve the design of control panels, hybrid electrical equipment and broader electrical designs. Some work will be modifications to existing products, but there will also be the opportunity for clean sheet designs. The work is varied, interesting and challenging.

Key skills required:

·Conscientious and organised individual,

·Excellent time management.

·Able to deliver projects on time and to brief.

·Experienced with AutoCAD LT software or AutoCAD Electrical or ePlan

·Project management – UK and international travel

·Familiarity with at least some of the following standards would be expected: IEC 61439, BS 7671, Any marine classification standards (RINA, Lloyds etc.), and ISO 8528

The company design, manufacture and sell hybrid energy management and control systems into the marine, off grid, vehicle and industrial markets and are the UK distributor for a number of well-known brands in the power industry.
