Our Client a manufacturing company is seeking a Senior Production Engineer, the role is offered as a full time, permanent position.


Salary:             £32,000 to £40,000 pa

Hours:             8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday – 37.5 hours per week

Holiday:           25 days + 8 BH


Senior Production Engineer:  Focus will be to ensure that the products are built to the highest quality standard, efficiently and on budget. A key member of the Manufacturing Engineering team, you will carry out all activities in support of PCB manufacture. A manufacturing expert with experience delivering state of the art PCBA with a track record of developing the manufacturing capabilities to do so.



  • ONC/HNC Electrical/Electronic
  • Ideally 5 years of demonstrated experience in PCBA process engineering.
  • Experience with repeatable, and reproducible process parameters and process controls, failure analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with DFM processes.
  • Understanding and implementing lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Must be able to read and understand critical PCB assembly drawings and technical notes. Ability to read and thoroughly understand technical manuals and documents.
  • Broad range knowledge and experience of primary PCBA processes: screen print, reflow, SMT placement, Selective/Wave Soldering.
  • Thorough understanding of computerised manufacturing systems ERP, MRP.
  • Project management experience


Senior Production Engineer main responsibilities:

  • Act as primary Manufacturing Engineering, assessing technologies, and developing a detailed manufacturing plan.
  • Provide technical discipline and leadership throughout the product life cycle, driving FMEA, developing Specifications, process development, supporting NPI builds.
  • Establish, deliver, and maintain manufacturing processes for new products throughout the product life cycle:
  • Analyse new equipment with the intent of achieving continuous improvement of present methods.
  • Develops process documentation and train personnel on new and existing processes.
  • Develops and performs designed experiments (DOE) and capability studies, develops process specifications, and designs and procures process tooling.
  • Performs failure investigations, data collection, recording results, report generation, and provides valid conclusions to the manufacturing team.
