Our Client is currently seeking a skilled Senior Test Development Engineer (Electronics).
Location: Near Dartford
Hours: Monday – Thursday 8am to 5pm, 1pm on a Friday.
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 pa + benefits – 25 days leave + BH, free parking, pension
Senior Test Development Engineer duties will include
- To test assemblies in accordance with written test procedures and achieve production delivery targets
- Good problem solver, able to diagnose faults on assemblies down to a component level
- Review problem/persistent failures, and report findings to generate preventative actions
- To participate in test development activities in the fault-finding/repair/design and manufacture of Test Fixtures and other support actions
- To understand and implement necessary anti-static precautions
- To understand IPC standards with regard to own area
- To be aware of company health and safety requirements
- To actively participate in the Company’s Continuous Improvement Programme
- To generate and debug programs for the Takaya Flying Probe Machine
- To assist, train and mentor junior test personnel
- To assist when required in relevant root cause analysis to test issues and NPI
- To assist with the generation of test times of products for estimating purposes
- To help develop test plans
- Create, update and communicate required test documentation
- Verify and validate new tests, test systems and solutions
Senior Test Development Engineer Education/experience requirements:
- Minimum HNC in Electronic Engineering, or equivalent experience
- High level of experience within electronic manufacturing and Test environment
- Thorough understanding of Test Methodologies
- Excellent familiarity with basic and advanced electronic components and their in-circuit functionality
- To be very competent in the reading of and interpretation of Circuit Diagrams, with respect to PCB assemblies and systems
- High level of Fault-finding ability – to be able to Fault-find down to component level
- Ability to use basic and advanced test equipment – e.g. Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, bench Power Supplies, Spectrum Analysers, Network Analysers, Function Generators etc
- Experience of testing and fault-finding Switch Mode Power Supply units
Desirable
- Use of Siemens “Test Expert” software package, to generate ASCII file programs for Takaya Flying Probe Machine
- Experience of RF Testing and Fault-finding of Power Amplifiers (VHF/UHF range)
- Experience of Testing & Fault-finding Switch Mode Power Supply units
- HV testing i.e. up to 5000V
