Our Client based in Dartford has an exciting opportunity to join them in the role of Import/Export Compliance Administrator is a new position within the Finance Team, reporting to the Finance Director.
For the role of Import/Export Compliance Administrator the salary offered is £37,000 - £40,000 pa + excellent benefits including medical cover.  21 days holiday + BH rising to 26 days pa with service.
Preference for the role of Import/Export Compliance Administrator will be given to candidates with the following knowledge:
Customs procedures
Tariff classifications
Customs valuations and origin and shipping documentation
Experience of working with HMRC & Border Force is desirable not essential. 

MAIN RESPONSIBLITIES - Import/Export Compliance Administrator
To maintain a system of controls to ensure accurate recording of import and export data and compliance with appropriate legislation.
To ensure all necessary documentation in support of import and export entries is maintained and readily accessible.
To prepare and submit returns required as part of the Company's IPR and End Use registrations.
MAIN DUTIES - Import/Export Compliance Administrator
To calculate and substantiate the amount of duty/VAT reclaimable/payable as a result of the operation of IPR Suspension and End Use and file appropriate returns with HMRC in accordance with the specified deadlines.
To maintain and renew the company's authorisations for IPR etc. and review the use of commodity codes within the Oracle system for validity. 
To maintain a system to determine, on a product-by-product basis, whether or not those products satisfy the requirements for preferential origin.
Work with Logistics Specialist and internal departments to operate an efficient Export Compliance system.
To operate an efficient Imports tracking system and verify accuracy of import declarations and associated import costs.
To prepare the monthly constant currency evaluation file to enable constant currency evaluation of the management accounting results.
Suitable candidates for the role of Import/Export Compliance Administrator will have the following skills:
Highly numerate and literate
Logical and methodical worker
Excellent attention to detail
Advanced Excel skills
