Our Client based in Gillingham is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Warehouse Team Leader. Working in the Goods In & Stores.
Location: Gillingham
Hours: 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday, 8.30am to 4pm Friday
Salary: £24,000 pa – paid monthly
Benefits: 24 days annual leave + BH, pension, overtime, uniform, bonus
Warehouse Team Leader skills and experience required:
- Strong leadership skills including dealing with absence, disciplinary and performance reviews
- Ideally holds a CB FL truck license but not essential
- Experience of a computerised WMS (SAP)
- Attend management meetings, able to implement change
- Good business acumen, desire to gain promotion
- Stock control
- Strong communicator verbally and written
- Pro-active and able to take ownership
- High attention to detail
- An analytic approach to problem solving
- A good thinker and active listener
- Good time management skills
- Good problem-solving skills
- Self-starter with the ability to quickly learn about new processes
Warehouse Team Leader duties:
- Responsibility for the planning and assignment of daily tasks for Warehouse Operatives
- To attend and facilitate the running of daily Warehouse staff meetings and team leader meetings
- Management of stock and inventories via SAP, maintaining usage data to support Procurements forecasting activities
- Responsible for the logistics of stock at External Contractor’s warehouse
- Working with outside contractors to oversee maintenance of equipment and to develop strong business relationships
- To oversee and implement KPI’s for Warehouse operatives
- To provide support in the fixing of GI and CW to stock locations
- To manage the process of stock reaching the production lines
- Obtain and utilise data to drive process improvements across the Warehouse
- Producing MI and KPI reports, presenting to management when required
- Organise and manage daily/weekly and annual stock takes
- Design and improve SOP’s
- To maintain and ensure compliance with all Reach Truck/ Counterbalance training and refreshers for warehouse operatives
- Promoting and adhering to FIFO
- Support the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager when raising purchase requests, working to company budgets and restraints
- To provide sickness and holiday cover on behalf of the Inventory Analyst or other team leaders with Supply Chain/Warehouse
- To ensure near misses are correctly recorded, learning from incidents and implementing preventative measures
- Being a role model in following Health and Safety procedures, ensuring compliance from all operatives
